Arnita Dula’s commitment to public sector law is matched only by her dedication to community service and advocacy. She earned her B.A. in English from UNC-Greensboro in 1984, followed by an M.A. in Public School Administration from Appalachian State University in 1992. Her journey led her to UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law, where she obtained her J.D. in 2001.She previously served as in-house counsel for Guilford County Schools, honing her expertise in education law over five impactful years. She served as the Deputy City Attorney for the City of Hickory for seventeen years. She currently is of counsel with Teague Campbell.
She received the North Carolina Bar Association Citizen Lawyer Award in 2016 and the City of Hickory’s Women’s History Month Phenomenal Woman Award the same year.
She has served on the boards of the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Municipal Attorneys Association, and the Catawba County Bar Her community engagement involves organizations such as the Piedmont Chapter of the Links, Incorporated and Arts Culture Catawba.
Raised in Lenoir, NC, Arnita cherishes her roots and family connections, and is deeply influenced by her upbringing in the Dulatown community. An ordained minister at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Hickory, NC, she finds fulfillment in faith, family, and her love for Carolina basketball.
